Monmouth Youth Communication Club

MY-CC / MYCC is a 501(c)(3) organization helping students K-12 build strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

Members lead their own projects and learn from one another, guided by local mentors.

In January 2026, we began guided AI tutoring, helping members bring their own ideas to life, use AI thoughtfully, and build tools that help others.

Our Learn AI Program continues this fall with two Saturday workshops for teens ages 13–17, taught with LearnAI tutors from Monmouth University.

Programs

Public Speaking & Communication

  • All experience levels

Workshops where members practice mock interviews and presentations in front of a real audience.

Kimberly BukLead Public Speaking Coach

Kimberly is a two-time Emmy® Award-winning journalist and producer who has worked in television news with WABC, FOX5, and WWOR, and you can catch her on News12. She coaches members on speech delivery, on-camera presence, and interviews, along with the everyday social skills that make speaking up easier.

One-to-one coaching: Kimberly also works with students individually. Ask us to set up a session.

Research Mentorship & Internship

Use AI in research, build an AI-powered project of your own, and get hands-on lab time in biology, chemistry, medicine, and related fields.

What it's for
A research portfolio for science fairs, internships, and college and STEM applications.

  • Academic & EXL Tutoring

    Math and reading help, including MCVSD prep.

    Summer sessions in CAD, robotics, and research.

  • Language Exchange

    ESL for Chinese-speaking students; Chinese lessons for younger learners.

  • Book Drives

    Run with Bridge of Books.

  • Beach Cleanups

    Along the Jersey Shore.

    Shared meals that keep the club close.

LearnAI is a campus AI training program developed by Computer Science and Software Engineering students at Monmouth University. Its tutors lead our AI sessions alongside MYCC's senior members.
