Monmouth Youth Communication Club (Part-time position, starting from June 2025, with the opportunity for extension)
Primary Locations: Marlboro and Cranbury, NJ (Serving Monmouth, Ocean, Middlesex, and Mercer Counties, including Marlboro, Holmdel, Manalapan, Old Bridge, Monroe, Cranbury, Plainsboro, Princeton, West Windsor, East Brunswick, and surrounding areas.)
Commitment: Starting at $20/hour, based on experience.
About Us
The Monmouth Youth Communication Club, a nonprofit organization, is hiring college students or recent graduates to lead engaging training sessions primarily for middle school and high school students. Our program helps young learners develop essential communication skills, build confidence, and improve their ability to express ideas effectively in different settings, including public speaking, interviews, and digital media.
What You’ll Do (You don’t need to cover all areas!)
- Teach Public Speaking & Confidence Building – Help students improve their speech delivery, stage presence, and self-expression.
- Coach Social & Interpersonal Skills – Guide students in active listening, conversation skills, and building emotional intelligence.
- Interview & On-Camera Training – Teach techniques for in-person and virtual interviews, including posture, voice control, and eye contact.
- Media & Content Creation – Assist students in creating engaging videos, improving storytelling techniques, and understanding basic social media marketing strategies.
- Personal Presence & Body Language – Help students develop strong posture, gestures, and facial expressions to project confidence.
- Provide Constructive Feedback – Offer encouragement and tips to help students grow.
Who We’re Looking For
- Strong communicators who enjoy speaking and helping others grow.
- College students or recent graduates majoring in Communication, Public Speaking, Journalism, Acting, Education, Marketing, Media Studies, or related fields.
- No formal teaching experience required — if you’re confident speaking and passionate about mentoring, we want to hear from you!
- Having taken advanced communication-related coursework (e.g., public speaking, debate, media training, interpersonal communication) is preferred.
- Experience in speech coaching, debate, media training, acting, mentoring, content creation, or leadership roles is a plus.
- Available 8 weeks between June and August
- Reliable, professional, and excited to create a positive learning environment.
